This is a big National event with fullsize helicopter TV coverage etc, Due to Stage 2of the Tour of Britain cycle race, Monday 7 September, Clitheroe to Colne
Monday 7 September sees Stage Two take place within the Ribble Valley and Pendle districts for a short, sharp stage with plenty of climbing through the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A winding route gives plenty of chances for spectators to enjoy the Start in Clitheroe, the action out on route and make it to the Finish in Colne.
Stage Two, the Ribble Valley and Pendle Stage from Clitheroe to Colne will head over several fearsome climbs in and around the two towns, but arguably none more famous than the Nick o’Pendle, the opening SKODA King of the Mountains climb of the day.
Last climbed by the Tour of Britain in 2004, this time the race will be taking on the climb from the easier southbound direction from Pendleton, although the two-kilometre climb still averages 7%! You can enjoy a preview of the route
