Another great day, light NW breeze meant it was a day for electric assistance, but later the conditions were better for true sloping, John paid us two visits first was a flypast in his microlight then half an hour later he was up with his slope glider. Dave was out with a refurbished model he got from Ken Jones and it flew very well. (Pictured big).
A good turn out as well, here are some further pics from the day.

Well I managed to have a New Years Day fly but was very cold!! - It was flyable from the Sabden side, went up with my trusty Littlestar as the light winds needed the help of the electric motor now and again.
And no I didnt go up in my Tank!, thats my aerial!

Southport Air Show Celebrates 90 years of the RAF
This year's Southport Air Show coincides with the 90th anniversary of the RAF, and to celebrate there will be increased flying activity to include the RAF Role Demonstrations by top military aircraft, Tornado GR4, Tornado F3, Sentry aircraft and a Chinook which will lead into a simulated fire power demonstration on the beach.
Southport Air Show is recognised as the largest aviation show in the
North West. This fantastic family event attracts up to 150,000
spectators over two days. The comprehensive flying programme includes
the spectacular Red Arrows, military and civilian aircraft, Jets,
helicopters, aerobatics and parachute displays.
This is a great day out for the family and an experience not to be missed!

Well the summer night flying on Towneley during Wednesday eveings are now no more (last flight was the 6th August-see below) with the start of the building for the new super school. Cant think exactly how long we have been flying there but I think its over 10 years if not longer.
So we need to find a new site for next Summer.

Well its early Sunday morning and we have a bright fine day at the moment, showers though are not to far away on the radar, but more importantly we only have a light SW at the moment, not a good direction for flying on Pendle, would idealy mean a walk over to the quarry site, nesting Falcon should not be a problem this time, but you really would need higher winds or a nasty scree slope landing is almost a guarantee. |
